Automotive Idiocy
One styling trend I have never understood is having the name of the car written slanted across the car and wrapping over the hood or trunk. To me it makes it look like the guy who applied the decal was drunk at the time.
I can sorta understand though advertising if you drive a cool car. However even brand new the 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass was not a particularly cool car. At least not to anyone under fifty. The last fourteen years have not served to improve on it's lack of coolness. Even with the giant metal wing and coffee-can sized exhaust tip. So why would you be so quick to advertise that you're driving one?
Here is an interior shot of the same car. Note the custom seatcovers. Rather than go for real performance seats, this person opted for a set of $15 seat cushions with padding in them to make them look like custom seats. Also there is the seat belt pad which has 'Powered by' and some japanese characters on it. Right. Their car is an Oldsmobile, made in America and powered by an American 4-cylinder engine. So where exactly does the Japanese power come from?
